Varicose Vein Removal
Varicose veins are large, rope-like veins that are the result of the backflow of blood into the legs when the valves in the vein do not work properly that cause a bulging appearance of the vein. This can occur from pregnancy, heredity, and age. Symptoms include aching pain, leg fatigue and heaviness that worsens as the day progresses. If left untreated, varicose veins can result in ulcerations which can be difficult to treat.
Phlebectomy
Phlebectomy is a type of surgical stripping of large varicose veins where multiple incisions are made to remove the vein. This procedure is performed local anesthesia with minimal post-surgery recovery time.
Endovenous Laser Ablation
Endovenous Laser Ablation is the alternative treatment to surgical vein stripping for varicose veins. A thin laser fiber is inserted into the diseased vein, generally through a small puncture in the leg above where the visual symptoms appear. Laser energy is delivered through a fiber which causes the vein to close as the fiber is gradually removed.
