Radiesse
Radiesse® is a safe, FDA-approved dermal filler made of calcium based microspheres suspended in gel that restores a natural, youthful look. Radiesse® does more than other fillers that simply work to fill wrinkles and folds - it rebuilds skin's collagen through a process called collagenesis that stimulates your body to encourage growth of new collagen around the injected areas. It’s commonly used to fill wrinkles and folds, but is also used to fill lips and cheeks.
The unique contouring ability of Radiesse allows physicians to treat large areas including deep wrinkles and fold or volumizing the lips or cheeks.
Administration involves using a small needle to inject the Radiesse directly into the dermis. The injections typically on take less than 30 minutes.
The increased volume will be seen immediately. Over time, the gel will be absorbed into the body but the tiny microspheres will remain giving skin a natural, youthful appearance.
Although anesthesia is not required, an injectable anesthesia (similar to what is used in dental offices) is typically recommended to reduce any discomfort. An ice pack may be used to reduce any swelling following the injection.
One Radiesse treatment may last a year or longer. By having a touch-up treatment, results may last 18 months to two years. There is no downtime.
