Labiaplasty
Labiaplasty (also called labial contouring or reshaping, labia reduction) is a minor surgical procedure that is completed in an outpatient setting under local anesthesia and mild sedation. The labiaplasty procedure reduces uneven or enlarged labia minora with minimal scarring. In most cases after healing, the cosmetic labiaplasty is undetectable.
Most patients experience mild discomfort, swelling, and bruising after the procedure which last for about a week. During this time, women can experience some spotting, and/or urinary hesitance. Most patients return to work after a couple of days but should refrain from strenuous activities including jogging, biking, horseback riding, running, heavy lifting, and sexual intercourse for about 4-6 weeks.
