IPL Photofacials
Photofacial is an Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment that can be performed on the face, neck, hands, or body. Treatment is used to improve the appearance of Rosacea, flushing skin, broken or raised capillaries, sun damage, age spots, skin texture, and photo aging. The treatment also improves mild acne scars, reduces large pores, corrects dark circles around the eyes, and reduces fine lines.
A hand piece containing a small crystal emits an intense light that applied in a series of gentle pulses over the treatment area. Without damaging the skin, the light penetrates through the skin and is absorbed by the abnormally dilated vessels or pigmentation. The heat causes damage to the vessels or lesion, and lifts them to the surface of the skin. The lesion will darken before it flakes off or fade as the body absorbs it. Treatment can be given as frequently as every three weeks.
